JSWins (JavaScript-Desktop-System)

JSWins is a desktop-system which is from the aspect of operation similarily to e.g. Windows, Linux etc. One can open, move, minimize, maximize and close windows. Through a taskbar at the bottom edge, one can restore quickly and easyly windows. The startmenu (button down left in the taskbar) contains links to various content-pages and to special actions, like e.g. "minimize all windows". At the right edge, one can select the language.
If one opens a page of the homepage, the HP-Explorer will be displayed. He is similar to the Windows-Explorer and provides a navigation through the homepage by visualizing the structure of the homepage tree-like. Different levels can be opened and folded.
The most important feature is the selection of the behaviour when clicking on links. So one can e.g. define for every window, wether the link should be displayed in the current window or if a new window (in JSWins) should be opened.
Over certain shortcuts one can execute specific actions via key-press. So one can close the actual window by pressing the "c"-key. A list of the shortcuts is displayed, when one presses e.g. the Return-key (Enter).
To simplify the Manual for novices, there are "Tooltips" displayed, when one hovers over buttons, which explains which mouse-clicks leads to which actions at the given mouse-position.
Why and from what reasons JSWins arise can be found in the Backgroundinformation.
Because JSWins not runs on all browsers more information can be found in the Systemrequirements.
A guide to JSWins can be found in the Manual.
